November 14 AGM and Speaker

November 14 is an important and special meeting for you to attend as it includes our Annual General Meeting.

Also the featured speaker is Photographer Bob Warren with “Capturing the Moment”.  His photography has been exhibited in venues such as the Mississauga Art gallery and the City of Mississauga. He is actively engaged in a project with a group of photographers who are documenting development of the Jim Tovey Lakeview Conservation Area.  “Morphology”, a collaboration between the Credit Valley Conservation Authority and the Region of Peel, follows the transformation of over 25 hectares of green space and wetlands along the shores of Lake Ontario.

Warren considers the act of taking photographs a means to capture time and motion, a method to arrest a fleeting instance of energy, preserving an unrepeatable scene.  This represents a microsecond in which one can see what will never be precisely the same. In the processing phase he finds the potential to transform that moment into something extraordinary.

His portfolio often features results of High Dynamic Range (HDR) processing, a technique using multiple photographs of the same scene, each with different exposure values. In the merging of these images, he produces one image that captures an incredibly broad spectrum of light and shadow.

An active participant in the Mississauga Camera Club since 2004, Warren held executive roles and was recognized for his photographic work. You can view a sampling of Bob Warren’s work in five of his online galleries here: bobwarrenphotography.ca/photo-galleries
